It took two years of red tape, but in October 1968, hospital patients began wearing the designs of Travilla. The gowns came in two styles, in a yellow and white stripe or blue floral. It drapes from a soft shoulder yoke and overlaps to tie on the side. No wide-open down the back embarrassment. Immediate hit with the residents.
“What a pleasant surprise from my last hospital visit. It put color in my stay
here.” Ethel Spencer.
“The difference is in the comfort and privacy…quite an improvement.” Mrs. Flora Hogan.
“If you have to be tied down…why not do it in style.” Benton Cole.It would be used in both the Santa Monica and California Matin Lutheran Hospitals as well as the Lutheran Hospital Society.
