Travilla 1968 Part 1

A pre-James Bond Maude Adams modeled for Travilla in 1968.

(Left) Yellow chiffon with plunging ruffled neckline caught at the waist by a nipped-in belt accenting a tiered fluted ruffling skirt. (Right) Black ruffled gown with ruffled puff collar above a brief arm-bearing bodice, submerging the waist in a mass of permanently pleated ruffles from midriff to ankle.

Lush circlets of delicate Swiss lace on organza form the skirt of this maxi-length empire gown accented with a crisp tailored collar and pleated belt.

Midi-length pink silk cotton dress with organza ruffles outlining the shirtfront and cuffing of long sleeves.

Cascading ruffled neckline of apricot chiffon with wide satin belt.

A chiffon mini dress with a high Victorian collar, long sleeves and an inset edged in ruffled lace, accented with a pink satin cummerbund.

A delightfully feminine ruffled blouse of white organdy is set on a midi-length black silk peau de sole skirt. (Pictured without matching jacket.)

A youthful shirtwaist dress of white point d’esprit sashed in golden satin with daisies floating at the hemline.

A cocoon of chiffon ruffles in orange, red and magenta.

A smoke-gray body dress with a pewter satin inset with self-tie.

Chiffon pantsuit with vertical beading.

Formal pajamas of white pleated crepe with a tunic for split-level effect. Evening face chain inspired by Samburu warriors.

Black crepe formal pajamas with the deeply slashed and wrapped sweater tunic margined with diamonds and crystals. Behind are split-level formal pajamas of white pleated crepe.

A light, airy Onondaga silk crepe dress.
