Travilla 1968 Part 2

A chiffon gown with peekaboo midriff in black and gold lame covered with velvet bubbles, some frosted with beading.

Diahann Carroll wore a heavy white crepe pant dress with legs so full and graceful they looked like an evening skirt. A high semi-turtleneck and long sleeves set off a bare midriff belted by a string of rhinestones connected to a broad band of rhinestones, edging the bodice bottom and pant top.

(Top left) White silk organza with a Renaissance body of chocolate embroidered lace and great white organdy empress sleeves. (Top right) Pink silk blossoms appliqued onto a white chantilly lace gown with empress sleeves. Belted high with pink satin. (Center) Persimmon color chiffon with Indian Chol bodice with a gallooned edged neckline, high bare midriff, and sleeves filigreed with gold beads and topaz jewels. Worn with African-inspired "face-leash."

A magenta velvet gown along the princess lines with an ample skirt and sculptured Juliet sleeves. An overlay of openwork crystal beading covered the bodice to just under the bustline and capped the top of the sleeves.
